This is a little late, but I had to think and process~Update for Justin~ a thank you to the PES staff!

Justin said it best~
"words you really don't want to hear a doctor say: RARE,  and Medical Mystery", [and Justin did not say this but I would have liked to NOT hear] "down the road we may have treatment that will be more effective..." when I want him to be treated NOW!

It was a difficult day.

He does have a rare cancer.

The Mayo Clinic did not show mutation for FDA approved treatment.

Justin does not qualify for any of the Dana Farber medical trials, at this time.

They did start chemo with 2 of the "tried and true" (but not  for a specific target) chemo medications. They may add a third, but 2 is enough for now.
We are on the 10th floor of the DFCC

He will go every 3 weeks: they will give him 2 treatments and then scans, (to measure the tumors), 2 treatments and then scans etc.

Tim asked if Justin will always have these tumors? Dr. Marcoux responded "Yes".

He quickly added, "Until they discover a better treatment"~ and there is no better place to do that then a Dana Farber.

"Chemo will halt the growth, it may reduce it, but [as of right now] will not cure it...."

In time tumors could shrivel up and look like scare tissue....which would be OK with me.

He may loose his hair, and get sores in his mouth, plus a host of other things.

Pray for Justin: Soul, Body and Mind~
Conversion for us all!

Father Lupo suggested I read Matthew ch. 6: 25-34
Dependence on God.*25n “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat [or drink], or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?26Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they?o27Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?*28Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin.29But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them.30* If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?31So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’32All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.33But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness,* and all these things will be given you besides.34Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

When I arrive at work on Wed. I found this lovely plant and basket on my desk. The basket was arranged so wonderfully I hated to look into it! It was full of thoughtful items, some of which I have already put into use.

+JMJ+ Pray for Justin

A "vintage train" ride. Enjoy the sounds of long ago, ( and yes, I did get soot on me). This is a coal powered steam train.
