+AMGD+ What does it mean?

I have seen this letters on written works published by Catholic Scholars, but I never knew what they meant. I have also seen and used (to end almost all my correspondence)  the letters "JMJ" or "JMJ Pray for us".

Ad maiorem Dei gloriam or ad majorem Dei gloriam, also rendered as the abbreviation AMDG, is the Latin motto of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a religious order of the Catholic Church. It means "For the greater glory of God."

For the Greater Glory of God.

I like that! It can be applied so every aspect of life!

JMJ ?

JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH~ PRAY FOR US!

A "vintage train" ride. Enjoy the sounds of long ago, ( and yes, I did get soot on me). This is a coal powered steam train.
