Isla Rose is 9 months old, (3 days ago), she is 15 pounds and starting to pull herself up. Isla has found her legs and her voice. She has been a light and gift from God, I am so thankful. Remember she was only 2 pounds and 8 (?) ounces when she was born....if you would like to view the pictures of her at birth please check out my posts for April/May 2017. We came so close to loosing her AND my wonderful daughter Jennifer....again I repeat how thankful I am to God for seeing us through.
Isla Rose has a dress/top on that was her mothers (Jennifer's) when Jennifer was a child....37 years ago. |
Justin had Etroposide, Zofran, Magnesium, some kind of steroid, and Cisplatin as well as a couple of other meds.
He and his girl friend Courtney get to the Parkview/ Mid Coast hospital campus at about 9:00 on Chemo days and he is there usually 6 hours....it is very grueling. I worked a half day, ( Mon. Tues. and Wed.) and then I bring him lunch to eat, afterward he slept, and Courtney went to work. Today was a longer day because when he finished chemo we had to to go to the "main hospital" which is several miles away, (I drove very slowly in this awful and icy storm) for his EKG, they want to make sure the meds are not causing heart issues.
He is wearing a hat my mom made him years ago. He has several of them, one for everyday of the week. |
This is his chemo station. There are 4 of these station in this room. |
He sleeps! He has the ear bud in his left ear because he
has ringing and some hearing loss in his right ear because of the Cisplatin.
We go to see the Audiologist again next week, (we were there last week)....they are keeping close watch on him....one more thing to be concerned and pray about.
I trust that this too is in Gods hands.
+JMJ+ Pray for us!
Blessings
